Public sector drove engineering construction in Q3

The ABS has released engineering construction data for the September quarter of 2019, which revealed a 0.5% seasonally adjusted rise in the value of work done over the quarter but an 8.3% decrease over the year:

According to the ABS, private sector engineering construction fell by 2.3% over the September quarter, whereas public sector engineering construction rose by 4.9%:

You can see from the next chart that NSW (+2.4%) and VIC (+9.4%) drove the engineering construction increase, whereas each of the other major jurisdictions registered falls:
