Retail sales fell in April, misses expectations

The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) has released retail sales figures for the month of April, which recorded a 0.1% decline in retail sales over the month in seasonally-adjusted terms, with annual sales growth falling to 2.8%:

The result missed analysts’ expectations of a 0.2% rise.
