Coalition won’t split income tax package

Finance Minister Mathias Cormann has ruled-out splitting the Coalition’s income tax package so that the Senate can pass low-and-middle income tax cuts in isolation to higher income tax cuts. From The Guardian:

The finance minister “completely “reject[ed]” the suggestion that the revenue lost from tax cuts would lead to budget deficits in an economic downturn.
