NSW Government: Labor’s NG policy to cuts stamp duties by 1%

A panicked NSW Government has hit-out at the federal Labor Party’s negative gearing reforms, claiming it would reduce the state’s stamp duty receipts by between 0.8% and 1.3%. From The Australian:

NSW Treasury modelling claims that transfer duty would decrease by 0.8 to 1.3 per cent in the three years to 2022-23 if Mr Shorten’s policy to stop negative gearing and increase capital gains tax for the purchase of existing properties, from January 1, 2020, goes ahead.
