Canberra riddled with defective high-rise fire boxes

The Canberra Times reports that the ACT Government considered implementing a “building defects fund” in 2010 to prevent shoddy construction work across the capital. However, the policy was never implemented, leading to the proliferation of sub-standard apartments:

Canberra’s development boom has been plagued by numerous accounts of defect-ridden buildings.
