Negative gearing debate enters post-truth zone

Yesterday evening, The Australian’s and The AFR’s lobbying against Labor’s negative gearing policy went into overdrive, attacking shadow Treasurer Chris Bowen for understating the share of negatively geared investment into newly constructed dwellings, and claiming that Labor has therefore overstated its Budget savings.
