Budget cash for everyone, except the unemployed

Tonight’s Federal Budget is expected to hose cash around a wide cross-section of the population. According to leaks and announcements, low-to-middle income earners will receive tax cuts. Veterans, carers, single parents, aged pensioners and people receiving the disability support pension will receive one-off payments to compensate for rising energy costs. And wealthy over-65s will be able to funnel more funds into tax-effective super.

One group conspicuously absent from the Budget’s cash splash is Australia’s unemployed Newstart recipients, who will miss-out yet again. And this left the Liberal’s own Arthur Sinodinos searching for answers on last night’s Q&A. From News.com.au:
