HIA contradicts itself on negative gearing

For years, the Housing Industry Association (HIA) has tied itself in knots lobbying against Labor’s negative gearing and capital gains tax (CGT) reforms. There are numerous examples if the HIA’s illogic, but the below tirade last October illustrates the mental gymnastics:
