Australian construction activity tanked in Q4

The ABS has released data on the value of construction work done for the December quarter of 2018, which registered a 3.1% seasonally-adjusted decline in total construction activity over the quarter and a 2.6% decrease over the year:

The result badly missed analysts’ expectations of a 0.5% increase in construction activity over the quarter.
