Forecasters pile on Australian retail’s Bad Santa

Over the past month, we’ve received various downbeat forecasts for Christmas retail sales.

First, we got Roy Morgan’s annual Christmas retail sales forecasts, conducted in conjunction with the Australian Retailers Association, which predicted tepid growth for discretionary retailers but stronger growth for non discretionary:
