Surprise! Big retailers want more migrants

Like clockwork, Australia’s biggest retailers have joined Australia’s biggest property developers in rejecting calls to cut Australia’s immigration intake. From The SMH:

Wesfarmers managing director Rob Scott… said Australia “should not lose sight” of the fact strong population growth had been an important contributor to economic growth over the past decades… “I’d personally like to see ongoing immigration”…
