Labor to scrap dud Work-for-the-Dole program

After indicating that it would lift Australia’s appallingly low unemployment benefits, Labor has flagged that it would scrap the Coalition’s $65 million a year Work-for-the-Dole program if elected. From The Canberra Times:

On Thursday, Labor’s employment services spokeswoman Terri Butler suggested the federal government program had encouraged workers to drop out of the labour market altogether…
