Coalition to announce token 30,000 immigration cut

As predicted, the Morrison Government will reportedly cut Australia’s permanent migrant ceiling by 30,000 in the lead-up to the federal election, to take effect by 1 July 2019. From The Sunshine Coast Daily:

Immigration Minister David Coleman confirmed he would soon start a review of the immigration cap of 190,000, with a new ceiling taking effect from July 2019… the new ceiling may not be vastly lower – perhaps only 30,000 fewer people than the current cap…
