Migration Agents’ lobby demands more slave labour

With the South Australian Liberal Government already laying the ground for a cheap labour flood by axing labour hire laws targeting migrant worker exploitation, the lobby group representing migration agents – the Migration Institute of Australia (MIA) – is now demanding the appallingly low pay floor of $53,900 for temporary skilled migrants be lowered even further:

“Employers in South Australia must now pay the same minimum salary threshold as major eastern seaboard cities despite average wages in South Australia being materially lower,” the institute says in its submission to a South Australian parliamentary inquiry into the economic contribution of migration to the state…
