Spring auction market sags as credit crunch bites

CoreLogic released its auction report yesterday, which reported a small rise in the preliminary national auction clearance rate to 58.2% from 57.9% last weekend (later revised down to 54.6%).

The preliminary clearance rate was also way below the 66.4% recorded in the same weekend of last year:

Auction volumes nationally were 1,752 – way below the 2,074 recorded in the same weekend last year:
