Long-term migrant arrivals hit record high in June

The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) has released visitor arrivals and departures data for the month of June, which again posted turbo-charged net annual permanent and long-term arrivals.

In the year to June 2018, there were 808,480 permanent and long-term arrivals into Australia – up 5% from June 2017 and an all-time high. This was partly offset by 532,290 permanent and long-term departures from Australia – also a record high:
