Grattan Institute slams Vic Labor’s $50b rail megaponzi

The Grattan Institute has rubbished the Victorian Government’s announced plans for a $50 billion gigantic rail tunnel loop, claiming the project has been announced without Infrastructure Victoria’s expert advice and without conducting a business case. From The Canberra Times:

Grattan Institute transport program director Marion Terrill said Labor’s decision to commit an estimated $50 billion to the loop without a business case or cost-benefit analysis was the latest in a long line of government promises to spend taxpayers’ money before doing due diligence.
