UK at 12 per cent – not a modest amount either. One of the causes of Brexit
Yep, why must AUS be more than 28% foreign born.
Why is it ok for every other nation to be much less foreign born.
Simple. Our ponzi scheme is orders of magnitude bigger.
The elites only have YOUR interests at heart.
Indeed on page 3 of The Herald Sun today, the CEO of Westfarmers warned of disaster if we cut back migration. Just like the CEO’s of the UKs biggest companies predicted an instant recession if people voted for Brexit and independence. The CEO of Wesfarmers actually claimed wages would fall if we cut back migration. According to that world view we should be happy with the small wage rises we are getting with mass immigration.
the CEO of Westfarmers warned of disaster if we cut back migration.
He was referring to the bonus scheme for himself and his immediate reports, as in ‘If we cut immigration, the effect on my bonus will be disastrous’.
Because it drives up prices and makes the rich richer
Are you suggesting immigrants are stealing the pie?
I love pie.
Or is the pie now more multicultural?
i dip it in hommus
So do I.
i’m moving to Estonia
All of Estonia government runs on blockchain developed by ex JPM’ers [ https://guardtime.com/ ]. Estonia’s population in 2000 was 1.3 million and now estimated at 1.319 million. Not much immigration and outperforming. The sprukers would not want to know this though, and continue with the misinformation. It’s ironic that they have alternative facts way before Trump made it an issue. Facts …who needs them.

interesting thanks
The difference is that they probably don’t have much debt (public or private).
Once the debt starts blowing out, your economy is toast.
Their GDP is about 26B and a debt of around 2B…around 7%. One of the lowest I expect.
Japan has no problem growing its economy? I guess the years of QE and other forms of stimulus are all just for sh1ts and giggles.
I’d take Japan’s financial QE over Australia’s population QE any day of the week. Japan’s the world’s biggest creditor nation, an export power house, has non-existent unemployment, and the world’s longest life expectancy.
Australia has… expensive houses.
What about Germany?
hopefully not even expenses house soon :-0
I’d argue that Germany is benefiting from its position in the EU. They’re benefiting from the smaller members that can’t devalue their own currency. If Germany had its own currency it would warrant being stronger and the smaller poorly performing countries would have currencies far weaker.
I’m not trying to defend Australia’s population policy. It’s a terrible idea. It’s so bad we don’t need to gloss over faults with other economies to acknowledge ours is garbage.
I’d argue (well, Michael Pettis really) that Germany has gained by wage suppression.
Germans work much harder, education is free, houses are cheap and industry is modern and efficient … How will the Italians, Spaniards and Greeks ever be expected to compete?
More effective than QE is Milton Friedman’s helicopter money. Kevin Rudd gave us helicopter money in 2009 – the $900 cheques.
Should have made them permanent and restricted to citizens only.
I’d have said that Germany, Australia and Japan are all so close to the OECD average GDP per capita that it was almost impossible to argue that anything that is different between those countries is a determinant of GDP per capita.
Perfect example of why GDP is utter crap.
Many if not most of my friends in central Europe are buying weapons and obtaining firearms training in order to take immigration matters (e.g. EU directives) into their own hands should it come to that, with a genuine view that it might. And I’m talking lawyers, architects, a dentist, etc. – urban professionals, not backwater bogans.
What directives might they be implementing?
Immigration quotas are the biggest worry I suspect
defcad.com went live yesterday (Aug1). https://defcad.com/ unfortunately it is already being censored. I downloaded the ruger and 1911, heaps early this morning, but the site was under heavy ddos attack in the few hours it was alive. Let me know if you want me to leave the files somewhere quiet.
Unfortunately i was unable to get the liberator or ar-10 in time.
Gender ratio at birth amongst Indian migrant mothers in Britain and Wales: 114.4 males per 100 females.
https://www.prb.org/sexratioatbirth/
I’ve always wondered why so many Indian families have only sons.
Allowing Indian migration (predominantly male to start with) is a recipe to rapidly turn your country into a cock forest.
Lol. “Britain and Wales”. Where do you think Wales is?
That gender imbalance is a great thing if you want to decrease the overall population.
I have complained about something similar before – the “universities” here are full of males. And the vast majority of 457 visa staff are also male.
We should mandate that 51% of foreign students from every nation must be female.
Yes we must MANdate that
@Astrolin and while we’re at it – publish a gender equitable book to the dic*tionary, call it c*ntionary for example
Be interesting to see New Zealand in that list.
Real median and modal wages per hour actually worked per capita?
Can we get this page posted into Q&A and ask them to give it a once over and perhaps plan a segment to look at it in detail ?
