Sydneysiders, renters, have worst housing stress

The 2018 Household Income and Labour Dynamics in Australia (HILDA) survey, released today, reveals that ‘housing stress’ – defined as when “housing costs are more than 30% of income and household income places the household in the bottom 40% of the income distribution” – is particularly high for those living in Sydney:
