Melbourne’s latte-left revolts against population ponzi

It seems the never-ending people flood and associated over-development is causing a revolt across one key latte-belt Melbourne inner suburb. From the Herald-Sun:

PRAHRAN residents are taking a stand against overdevelopment and congested traffic in their once peaceful streets.

Murray St resident Liana Slipetsky said she was sick of cars and trucks using her street and nearby Bendigo and York streets as a rat run to avoid heavy traffic on Williams Rd, and she was concerned the amenity of the area was under threat from apartments and multi-unit developments…

“I’m all for growth, but the infrastructure needs to keep up,” she said. “How, as residents, are you supposed to enjoy the area you bought into?”…

I’ve got news for you, Ms Slipetsky. Infrastructure can never “keep up” when Melbourne’s population is growing by 100,000 people a year:

And your amenity will only worsen as Melbourne’s population expands by a projected 3-plus million people over the next 30-years to more than 8 million people:

If you don’t believe me, then go read Infrastructure Australia’s recent report, which projects worsening traffic congestion and reduced access to jobs, schools, hospitals and green space under every build-out scenario:

The only solution to this mess is to slash Australia’s immigration intake back to historical norms:

But this would require the Latte Left to abandon its love affair with ‘open borders’.
