Employment in detail: Not bad, could be better

As summarised earlier, the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) today released its labour force report for June, which registered a 50,900 increase in total employment but an unchanged headline unemployment rate of 5.4%, driven by rising labour force participation.

In trend terms, the unemployment rate fell marginally from 5.43% to 5.41%:
