Arrogant Grattan demands bulldozing of cities

Earlier this month, Dr Bob Birrell and Dr Ernest Healy from The Australian Population Research Institute (APRI) published an excellent report explaining the deleterious impact Australia’s mass immigration ‘Big Australia’ policy has had on housing affordability in Sydney and Melbourne.

Yesterday, Bendan Coates – research fellow at The Grattan Institute – penned another article in The Conversation acknowledging that the massive surge in immigration has caused the shortage of housing. However, instead of calling for immigration levels to be reduced, Coates instead demanded that inner and middle-ring suburbs be bulldozed to make way for more supply:
