Renewed push to ban Airbnb in Sydney apartment blocks

In the wake of the NSW Government last week delaying modest reforms to Airbnb capping the number of days homes could be rented to 180 days, Liberal MP John Sidoti has called for Airbnb to be banned within apartment blocks unless strata committees or owners corporations explicitly vote to allow it. From The SMH:

Mr Sidoti said short-term letting should be “automatically ruled out” in strata buildings. But “if you want it you can do it, on the basis that 75 per cent of a strata committee votes in favour of Airbnb-style uses,” Mr Sidoti said.
