Labor calls out Coalition’s decentralisation ‘smoke and mirrors’

Since it came to office in late 2013, the Coalition Government has spuiked its plan to push the public service to regional centres in a bid to decentralise the federal bureaucracy.

From the beginning, Labor has rubbished the idea, claiming that it would represent “pork barelling” and would also make the APS “less effective”.
