Auction clearances into the 40s

CoreLogic released its auction report yesterday, which reported a further fall in the preliminary national auction clearance rate to 59.7% from 60.3% last weekend (later revised down to 56.8%).
The preliminary clearance rate was also way below the 71.3% recorded in the same weekend of last year, with a sharp downward trend evident:

Auction volumes nationally were 2,287 – well below the 2,885 recorded in the same weekend last year:
