Australia suffers from too much university, too little TAFE

Researchers at the Mitchell Institute – an education think tank at Victoria university – have released a new report claiming that Australia is facing a shortage of tertiary educated Australians, placing at risk to nation’s future productivity:

Since World War 2, successive Commonwealth and state governments have recognised that a well-educated population is essential to Australia’s economic and social wellbeing, and have put in place policies, systems and institutions to raise levels of participation in education at all levels.
