ATO faces parliamentary probe following Four Corners report

The fallout from Monday’s Four Corners report on the Australian Tax Office’s (ATO) alleged bullying of small businesses has continued, with both the Turnbull Government and the Labor Opposition committing to undertaking a parliamentary investigation into the conduct of the ATO, while Greens senator Peter Whish-Wilson and independent senator David Leyonhjelm have both expressed concern about the allegations raised by the investigation by Fairfax Media and “Four Corners”. Revenue and Financial Services Minister Kelly O’Dwyer has launched an investigation into Australian Taxation Office (ATO) amid allegations of unfair treatment of small business and individuals.
