ABS: Real Australian rents have been falling for 6 years

The March quarter consumer price index (CPI) data, released on Tuesday by the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS), revealed that annual rental growth at the national capital city level has rebounded slowly from 23-year lows.

According to the ABS, rents nationally grew by 0.8% in the year to March, up from September’s 23-year low annual growth of 0.5%:
