Auction clearances slump

CoreLogic released its auction report yesterday, which reported a big fall in the preliminary national auction clearance rate to 65.9% from 70.5% last week (later revised down to 66.8%). The preliminary clearance rate was also well below the 74.6% recorded in the same weekend of last year:

Nevertheless, as you can see above, the trend clearance rate has bounced recently.

Auction volumes nationally were at at 2,980 – slightly above the 2,907 recorded in the same weekend last year:
