CoreLogic released its auction report yesterday, which reported a big fall in the preliminary national auction clearance rate to 67.7% from 78.2% last weekend and remained below the 68.8% recorded in the same weekend last year:
However, as you can see above, the clearance rate has bounced; albeit of thin volumes.
Indeed, auction volumes nationally remain seasonally low at 779 – also below the 881 recorded in the same weekend last year:
Nevertheless, as shown above, clearances in Sydney (-9.2%), Melbourne (-4.9%), Brisbane (-1.7%), and Canberra (-6.1%) are below the same weekend last year, whereas they are higher in Adelaide (+15.9%), Perth (+20.9%), and Tasmania (+16.7%).

There’s little point reading too much into this data given the seasonally low volumes.
