The September quarter consumer price index (CPI) data, released today by the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS), revealed that annual rental growth at the national capital city level is at 23-year lows.
According to the ABS, rents nationally grew by just 0.2% over the September quarter and by only 0.5% over the year – the lowest annual growth rate since December 1994 (see below charts).
