 SEK: 2/3 of growth from 1/3 of economy — Seek Australia job ads were +13% in Aug with most of the growth coming from just 7 of Seek’s 30 job categories. Trades & Services, Construction, Engineering, Mining, Manufacturing & Logistics, Government and Healthcare make up just 40% of Seek’s current ad inventory but have provided 69% of the growth in the past 12 months. The other 23 categories (60% of ad volumes) have all recorded grown of 4% or less over the past year, indicating either a slowdown in recruiting activity, or that employers in these categories are using other channels to find staff.

Construction will be a problem for jobs next year.
