WA mining projects drive big construction rebound

The ABS has released data on the value of construction work done for the June quarter of 2017, which registered a big seasonally-adjusted 9.3% jump in total construction activity over the quarter and a 6.8% rise over the year:

The 9.3% quarterly jump in construction activity was driven by engineering construction, which surged by 21.5% in real terms. By contrast, building construction was basically flat (+0.1%) over the quarter:
