Idiot Coalition plays straight into Labor’s inequality trap

Treasurer Scott Morrison will reportedly use a speech on today to criticise recent claims by Opposition Leader Bill Shorten that inequality is increasing in Australia. Morrison will argue that Australia’s welfare system is the most effective at redistributing wealth, and households on the lowest incomes already receive much more in welfare benefits than they pay in taxes. The Household, Income and Labour Dynamics of Australia survey also shows that there has not been much change in inequality since 2001. From The Australian:

An advance copy of Mr Morris­on’s speech says that fairness is about people paying their fair share, but is “not about taking from those who have earned to simply even up the score”.
