Halfway to doom as Turnbull Newspolls worsen

Malcolm Turnbull has lost ground to Bill Shorten as the ­nation’s preferred prime minister after weeks of Coalition infighting, as the government struggles to end a slump that gives Labor a commanding lead in the polls.

Mr Turnbull’s advantage on the crucial leadership measure has narrowed to eight percentage points, with 41 per cent of voters naming him as preferred prime minister compared to 33 per cent for Mr Shorten.
