ABS: Rental growth still lowest in 23 years

The June quarter consumer price index (CPI) data, released today by the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS), revealed that annual rental growth at the national capital city level remains at 23-year lows.

According to the ABS, rents nationally grew by just 0.2% over the June quarter and by only 0.6% over the year – the equal lowest annual growth rate since December 1994 (see below charts).
