Latham, Bernardi demand sustainable immigration

Mark Latham and Corey Bernardi did an interesting segment on Mark Latham’s Outsiders calling for the Federal Government to halve Australia’s permanent migrant intake in order to relieve pressure on housing and infrastructure.

Before you denigrate their views based on their conservative affiliation, consider that all they are asking for is for immigration to be returned closer to (but still above) the historical levels that existed prior to the early-2000s, when the permanent migrant intake was more than doubled by John Howard and successive governments (see next chart).
