How does ten years of falling wages sound?

In the wake of the updated population estimates from the ABS (to reflect the 2016 Census), I have updated the ABS’ aggregate wages & salaries data which was released as part of the March quarter Business Indicators report earlier this month.

According to the ABS, wages & salaries measures “gross earnings before taxation and other deductions. Includes provisions for employee entitlements”. And I have deflated these aggregate nominal figures to real values (using the consumer price index) and real per capita values (using the latest population data).
