Auction clearances retrace some more

CoreLogic released its auction report yesterday, which revealed a further softening in the national auction clearance rate to 69.1% from 69.6% last weekend, but was still above the 64.4% recorded in the same weekend last year:

Auction volumes nationally were 2,323 – above the 2,218 recorded in the same weekend last year.

As shown above, Sydney’s auction clearance rate was 73.1%, above the 72.4% recorded last weekend but below last year’s 73.5%. However, auction volumes were higher, with 918 homes going under the hammer versus 816 on the same weekend last year:

Melbourne’s auction clearance rate fell to 71.9% versus the 72.2% recorded last week, but was above last year’s clearance rate of 67.3%. Auction volumes were also higher (1,050 versus 1,029):

In Brisbane, the auction clearance rate fell to 30.7% from 49.0% last week, and was below last year’s 41.8%. Auction volumes were also lower (129 versus 175):

Finally, in Adelaide, the clearance rate fell to 67.6% versus 71.8% last week, but was up on the same weekend last year (59.8%). Auction volumes were also higher than last year’s (101 versus 90):
