Auction clearances fade some more

CoreLogic released its auction report yesterday, which revealed another weekend of strong auction conditions, although the national auction clearance rate slid to 71.8% from 73.9% last weekend, but was still well above the 65.7% recorded in the same weekend last year:

Auction volumes nationally were 1,265 – well above the 1,100 recorded in the same weekend last year.

As shown above, Sydney’s auction clearance rate was 71.3%, below the 77.5% recorded last weekend and last year’s 74.1%. However, auction volumes were higher, with 610 homes going under the hammer versus 463 on the same weekend last year:

Melbourne’s auction clearance rate rose to 77.1% versus the 75.4% recorded last week, and was well above last year’s clearance rate of 64.5%. Auction volumes were also way higher (392 versus 341):

In Brisbane, the auction clearance rate rose to 64.8% from 51.0% last week, and was above last year’s 46.3%. However, auction volumes were lower (112 versus 142):

Finally, in Adelaide, the clearance rate rose to 73.9% versus 63.4% last week, but was down on the same weekend last year (75.4%). Auction volumes were also lower than last year’s (66 versus 75):
