Auction clearances fade a little

CoreLogic released its auction report yesterday, which revealed another weekend of strong auction conditions, although the national auction clearance rate slid to 73.9% from 74.6% last weekend, still well above the 68.2% recorded in the same weekend last year:

Auction volumes nationally fell to 2,545, but were well above the 2,008 recorded in the same weekend last year.

As shown above, Sydney’s auction clearance rate was 77.5%, above the 76.2% recorded last weekend and above last year’s 72.9%. Auction volumes were also higher, with 1,000 homes going under the hammer versus 692 on the same weekend last year:

Melbourne’s auction clearance rate fell to 75.4% versus the 77.3% recorded last week, but was above last year’s clearance rate of 71.1%. Auction volumes were also way higher (1,181 versus 970):

In Brisbane, the auction clearance rate fell to 51.0% from 56.0% last week, but was above last year’s 48.2%. Auction volumes were also higher (146 versus 130):

Finally, in Adelaide, the clearance rate rose to 63.4% versus 54.9% last week, and was up on the same weekend last year (60.7%). Auction volumes were also higher than last year’s (107 versus 98):
