Unemployment in detail: Labour market drift

As summarised earlier, the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) today released its labour force report for April, which registered a 37,400 increase in total employment and a 0.2% decline in the headline unemployment rate to 5.7%.

In trend terms, the unemployment rate remained dead flat (still 5.81%):
