Fairfax’s Ross Gittins penned an excellent article yesterday on the inefficiencies of Australia’s demand-driven university system, which is churning out way too many graduates, costing the Budget a fortune, and leading to bloated bureaucracies:

In an ideal world we’d be investing more in our universities, but our world is far from ideal. And so are our unis. They’re inefficient bureaucracies, with bloated administrations and over-paid vice chancellors…
