The latest Newspoll, taken ­exclusively for The Australian, ­reveals a dip in support for Labor and the Greens over the past three weeks while the Coalition has held its primary vote at 36 per cent and improved its position after preferences.

The government now heads into the May 9 budget with an ­encouraging sign that it can win back voters, but it continues to suffer from a perilous slump since late last year that gives Labor a clear election-winning lead.
