Yesterday, the Victorian Labor Government awoke to the news that it had collapsed in the latest opinion polls, with a Reachtel Poll published by the Herald Sun showing the Andrews Government down 46%-54% on a two-party preferred basis.
Although mid-term opinions polls can be fluid, and the next election isn’t due until November 2018, it does illustrate a disturbing trend that has developed in Victorian politics: voters are angry, lack patience, and are willing to throw state governments out in short order.
