Auction clearances remain turbo-charged

CoreLogic released its auction report yesterday, which revealed another weekend of strong auction conditions, with the national auction clearance rate rising to 77.1% from 76.2% last week, and remained well above the 70.9% recorded in the same weekend last year:

Auction volumes nationally (3,147) were also way above the same weekend last year (554), which was affected by the Easter holiday.

As shown above, Sydney’s auction clearance rate was 81.1%, just below last weekend’s 83.9% but well above last year’s 77.9%. Auction volumes were also much stronger, with 1,082 homes going under the hammer versus 349 on the same weekend last year (again affected by the Easter long-weekend):
