Men continue to bear brunt of labour market adjustment

Yesterday’s labour force data for November, released by the ABS, once again highlighted how male workers have borne the brunt of Australia’s labour market adjustment towards services.

In the year to November 2016, male full-time employment declined by 0.8%, whereas part-time employment surged by 6.9%, taking total male jobs growth to an anaemic 0.6% over the year:
