From the RBA:

The incoming Governor, Philip Lowe, today welcomed the appointment by the Treasurer of Dr Guy Debelle to the position of Deputy Governor of the Reserve Bank of Australia and as a member of the Reserve Bank Board. Dr Lowe said:

‘I warmly congratulate Dr Debelle on a well-deserved appointment as Deputy Governor of the Reserve Bank of Australia. Over many years, he has made major contributions to the Bank’s economic and financial policies. He has also led some of the important international work aimed at improving the functioning of financial markets. I am confident that over the coming years the Reserve Bank Board will benefit greatly from his wealth of experience and expertise.’

Dr Debelle will take up his new role on 18 September. An Assistant Governor role will be advertised shortly.

Word from the bank is that MrDebelle is more switched-on about markets than others, for what that’s worth.
