The big economic data dump of the day is Chinese industrial profits and retail sales, which came out as scheduled (unlike the new Rogue One Star Wars trailer – hurry up NBC America!)

  • (private sector fixed investment +2.1% in January – July, down from 2.8% the previous read (January – June) )

Retail Sales 10.2% y/y MISS

  • expected is 10.5%, prior was 10.6%

Retail Sales YTD 10.3% y/y

  • expected is 10.3%, prior was 10.3%
