Macro Morning (Trading Week)

It has only been a little over a week since the Brexit vote and we’ve seen some extraordinary volatility that now looks like settling down. Or setting up some dangerous conditions? I posited the case last week that policy makers are scrambling as fast as hopeful traders can press the buy button to shore up damaged equity markets as the safe havens like bonds and gold are bid up just as quickly. Nothing changed on Friday, going into the US long weekend (to celebrate another Brexit), with most stock markets posting positive, dragging up oil and commodities as well.
As befits a Monday morning, let’s step back and view the market complex from a longer term point of view, starting with Asian equities.
